Nick,

I user TweetDeck and I set up lists of people I know I want to read for sure and I also set up filters so I can segment out keyword phrases that I know I want to see tweets on. Then I pay most attention to those tweets and just skim the rest. The truth is some days you read and absorb more and other days, it’s less. You also get used to it and get more efficient. When I first started I couldn’t imagine keeping up with more than 100. TweetDeck organization really helps me keep track of what I don’t want to miss. You should definitely try it. I hope that helps.
