Google Base + AdWords = $$$$ for Google

On the Google Blog on Monday, they announced their plans to integrate AdWords with Google Base.

The idea is that anyone who publishes information or classifieds on Google Base can now bid on keywords via AdWords to drive traffic to listings.

It is a strategy to create more AdWords advertisers.

And although it is all about Google’s bottom line, it will help Google Base users drive the traffic they desire.  They’ll just need to be very careful.

AdWords isn’t something that anyone can just start paricipating in and make money in a snap.  It requires research (on keywords), marketing savvy (in creating compelling ads) and business smarts (to figure out what you can afford to spend per click), otherwise you end up losing money quickly.

My opinion?  Glad you asked!  :)

I think it is a good idea, Google can make more money and Google Base users have a new traffic source.

I can’t say it enough though – be careful!  At the very least get Perry Marshall’s AdWords course — and really learn a lot, or hire a pro.  PPC is not child’s play!
