Hi everyone,

I’m on the road and have been a little out of touch.  I was happy to see all of Bonnie and Brenda’s great posts recently.

I wanted to take a minute to talk about the big picture of SEO.  Everyone (us included) gets so consumed with the details, sometimes the big picture is overlooked.  Remember SEO is not a one shot deal and you are done.  If it was, we’d all have websites that had a ton of traffic and we’d be filthy rich.  In order to keep driving traffic to your site you need to stay current, add content, make tweaks, track stats and alter your site accordingly to improve results, etc etc.  It takes some work, time and planning.  Not everyone has that time, so they choose to hire a firm to handle it.  We appreciate that, we exist because you need us.  We are here to deliver what you need. 

I just want to remind everyone that whether you handle your own SEO or hire a professional, you need to think about the big picture.    You need to think about your goals.  Are you looking to try to find a quick boost in traffic?  Are you looking for a long term consistent source of traffic?  Are you looking to grow your campaign and add keywords over time? 

Determining your goals ahead of time can help you better plan your time and your budget.  Your SEO plan should be custom and would be different depending on what your goals are.  In some cases SEO may not even be right for you.  I’d like to encourage everyone that is not doing SEO already to have a free consultation and determine the best plan of action for your site.  If you are already doing SEO by yourself or with another company, take time to check out your strategy and make sure you have one in place to meet your goals.
